Publisher HarperCollins has made available a special deluxe hardcover edition of The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún, each signed by editor Christopher Tolkien, and limited to 500 copies worldwide.
Each copy includes a facsimile page of the original manuscript. The book is hand-bound in goat-skin and features raised spine ribs and pages edged in gold. The book is housed in a matching leather traycase lined in real suede, and protected in its own shipping carton.
There are still copies available through the HarperCollins official online Tolkien book store, for £350 (US $576). The store also features a significantly less expensive collector’s edition, that features the first edition text and a facsimile page. The book is quarterbound with a special gold motif stamped on the front board, and is presented in a matching slipcase. It is £60 (US $99).
